Description:

The tri-comb fluted 19th century close helmet has spring loaded button latches for the bevor and for the 1-piece visor/ventail. The rivets on the helmet are stamped with an asterisk (*). There is a plume holder with red feathers attached at the back. The gauntlets are mitten style. The right gauntlet is 19th century but is very well made. The right wing plate is old. The lower cannon and upper cannon are late 1520s German. The rest of the pauldron is 19th or late 16th century turned into maximilion style. The left arm is similar with the wing plate being modern and reworked old plates. The backplate is old metal made to look like maximilion and the breastplate is well made in 19th century. There is a very well made 1-piece forged brayette. The cuisses are also very well made with rivets for leather straps near the top. The well made greaves are composed of thick steel with a hammered texture on the backside. Both greaves are stamped "1991" in small letters in a discrete location. The end piece of the sabatons are embossed with a decorative design. The cuisses, greaves, and sabaton are all well made in the late 19th century. With a parade style two handed sword with flamberge style blade. The 20th century sword measures 61 1/2 inches long. Mounted on an impressive wooden base. Stands approximately 9 feet tall.

Rating Definition:

Good overall. There are scattered areas of minor and moderate pitting, scattered break throughs, some cracks and some pieced in repairs. Some of the components have been cleaned and some of the elements have been restored. The sword is good with discoloration and scattered minor pitting.
