Description:

This is an example of a British Military Flintlock Pistol, most likely of Sea Service pattern. The lock plate is marked "TOWER" vertically behind the cocking piece and ahead of the cocking piece is a large "crown/GR" along with a crown proof. The left side of the barrel has two faint British proofs stamped at the breech. The trigger guard, buttcap, side plate and single ramrod pipe are brass. The left side of the buttcap is punch marked "N-1/8-G/QDTDE." The stock is stamped with the number "13" and an "arrow/BC." The ramrod has a brass tip.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The metal surfaces have a bright appearance. The belt hook is a replacement. The varnished stock is good with a couple hairline cracks near the barrel tang, a missing chip and a repaired chip near the lock and a number of pressure dents and scratches. Mechanically fine.
