The cocking piece and lock plate feature a floral engraving and the lock plate is marked "BRANDER/& POTTS" ahead of the cocking piece. The top of the barrel is flat and is marked "70 MINORIES, LONDON." Fixed sight, sliding hammer safety, engraved barrel tang and trigger guard, swivel iron ramrod with button head and pineapple trigger guard finial. The full length stock has checkering on the grip area and a small silver oval thumb escutcheon. The firm of Brander & Potts was active in the early 19th Century, with Mr. Brander being called upon to testify in the high treason trial of James Watson following the events of the Spa Fields Riot, where an anti-monarchy mob sacked several gunsmiths in the Minories area before an abortive attack on the Tower of London.

Rating Definition:

Good as partially refinished (barrel). The barrel retains traces of blue finish with a smooth brown patina on the balance and the remaining metal surfaces have a mottled gray patina. Minor pitting is present (mostly on the barrel). The stock is also good with a couple hairline cracks and a number of minor pressure dents with overall crisp checkering. Mechanically fine.
