Description:

This contemporary example has a well made barbute style helm. The skull is a 1-piece forging with a rivet applied reinforcement for the sight and breath opening. The bottom edge is rolled and there is an etched maker's mark on the right side. The maker's mark shows the outline of a man over the initials "WR". The remainder of the components have the fluted Gothic style features. Single hinge mitten gauntlets, winged elbow and knee cops, swirled embossed rondels with a 1 inch welded spike in the center, and long sabatons with a flat tip. There is a lug on the left side of the breast plate for attaching the removable lance rest. With a 95 inch long 16th century style halberd. Mounted on a plain black painted wooden base. Stands almost 9 feet tall with halberd.

Rating Definition:

Very good, there are some areas of minor pitting overall along with some areas of heavy pitting on the tassets. The pauldrons and knee cops have some small cracks at the sharp corners. There is a 3 inch section of cracking/oxidation on the left greave. A nice example of quality workmanship.
