Single bead front sight on the matted solid rib marked "VORM. J.P. SAUER & SOHN-SUHL". The breech end side of each barrel is engraved with a 1 1/2 inch wedge of floral scroll engraving, the top of the right barrel is marked "SPECIAL GEWEHR intertwined rings LAUF-STAHL S.G.1/LAUFE INNEN" and "HART VERCHROMT/SPECIAL GEWEHR intertwined rings LAUF-STAHL S.G.1"/MADE IN GERMANY" on the left. The forward portion of the frame, break lever, trigger guard and forearm hardware are deep relief chisel engraved with floral scroll designs. The fences are deep relief engraved with floral designs while the locks and frame ahead of the trigger guard are deep relief engraved with wooded scenes of hunting dogs and game birds on the right side, three foxes chasing a rabbit on the left side and a dog and fox on the underside. Greener cross bolt, double triggers, cocking indicators and tang mounted manual safety. The frame and side plates were casehardened with blue remaining parts. 2 3/4 inch chambers, choked extra full/full with ejectors. Mounted with a nicely figured multi-point checkered walnut semi-beavertail forearm and straight grip stock with a J.P. Sauer horn buttplate. Length of pull is 14 1/4 inches. Comes in a leather hardcase with leather straps and handle, and red felt lining. Excellent with 99% blue finish remaining on the barrels, break lever and trigger guard. The remaining surfaces have a smooth gray patina. The wood shows only light handling/storage marks and very crisp checkering. The engraving and markings are crisp and clear. The deep relief engraving remains sharp. The rear trigger does not always function and the remaining mechanics are fine. The case is excellent with a few minor dents on the exterior. The accessories are very good or better.
