This beautiful example has a generous amount of floral scroll engraving on the receiver, trigger plate, trigger guard, break lever, safety switch and forearm hardware. The top of the right barrel is engraved "ABERCROMBIE & FITCH CO/MADE IN BELGIUM" and the left barrel is engraved "U.S. AGENTS NEW-YORK". The left side of the receiver is engraved "A. FRANCOTTE MAKER & PATENTEE/LIEGE BELGIQUE". The bottom flat of the barrels have the various proofmarks, the chamber length "2 7/8" and the choke constriction is engraved on the bottom of the barrels (left ".529"/right ".544"). There is a single brass bead sight on the hand matted rib. Mounted on a nicely figured, multi-point checkered splinter walnut forearm and straight grip stock with checkered flats and a checkered horn buttplate. Length of pull is 14 1/4 inches.

Excellent, the blue components retain 98% original blue finish with some scattered minor scratches, a couple small freckles of oxidation and some high edge wear. The casehardened components retain 95% of the original bright case colors with some high edge and handling wear. The wood is very fine with scattered minor scratches, some dings, some small imperfections in the wood and some minor chipping along the edge of the forearm. The buttplate has some minor worm damage. Mechanically excellent. An attractive 28 gauge Auguste Francotte shotgun!
