Description:

This example was manufactured in 1905. The round bottom action, trigger guard and side locks have an ample amount of tight floral scroll engraving. The fences have a feather engraved on them. There is a flip up tang peep sight, the side lever cocks the rifle barrel and there is cocking indicators. The bottom of the receiver is engraved "D.R.P./No. 18411". The barrels have a beaded blade front sight, a flip up rear sight, are choked improved cylinder/improved modified and have 2 5/8 inch chambers with an extractor. Mounted on a nicely figured, multi-point checkered walnut forearm and round knob pistol grip stock with silver initial oval and serrated horn buttplate. Length of pull is 13 1/2 inches. Consignor's notes indicate the rifle barrel is chambered in 30-30.

Rating Definition:

Very good, 90% plus of the original blue finish remains on the barrels. The break lever, trigger guard and cocking lever retain 75% of the original blue finish. The casehardened components retain 25% of the bright original case colors in the protected areas with a silvery patina on the remainder. Traces of a protective lacquer coating remain on the receiver. The refinished stock is very good with a few scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically needs work as the second shotgun barrel will not fire.
