With a black leather flap holster (jln/1942) and a capture certificate dated 10 Feb 1946, identifying this pistol by number and listing the claimant as 1st Lieutenant Glen E. Petrie, and a short biography of Lieutenant (later Colonel) Petrie, a member of the 518th Port Battalion, part of the 1st Engineer Special Brigade, which would participate in the establishment and operation of "Mulberry A", the mobile harbor used to offload heavy oceangoing craft onto Omaha Beach in the immediate aftermath of Operation Neptune, and also the clearing and operation of the port at Cherbourg. After the War, Petrie served as Comptroller for several units, was Commanding Officer of the 2nd Transportation Battalion and Executive Officer of the Supply and Maintenance Agency.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 95% plus of the original blue finish, showing areas of gray and plum patina on the frame, bright edge wear and mild handling marks. The grips are also excellent, with some light scratches and scuffs. Holster is good, with a number of hand-scratched markings on the back, scuffs and stains. Mechanically excellent.
