Left side of slide is marked "P.38" next to "byf / 43" along with a commercial "eagle/N" proof and the serial number and the right side has an "eagle/135" proof and a police "eagle/swastika L" proof. Approximately 1,400 P38 Police Pistols with the "eagle/L" proof and "byf/43" code were manufactured. Matching numbers on the slide, barrel lug and frame. The left side of the frame has an "eagle/135" proof and the left side of the locking lock has an "eagle/135" proof and "eagle/N" proof. Ribbed grips with lanyard staple on the lower left side and a "P.38v" marked magazine.

Very good as arsenal/importer refurbished. The pistol retains 99% Armory dip blue finish with some minor thinning at the muzzle and a faint plum patina on the slide. There is some minor pitting. The grips are very good with numerous minor scratches (more prevalent on the right panel) and some minor dings. The markings are clear. Mechanically fine.
