Description:

Blade front and tangent rear sights, with the "dou/44" maker and date code on the receiver ring and "eagle/WaAA80" stamps on multiple components. Smooth pistol grip stock, with stamped components and a brown leather sling. Included with the rifle is a framed display; in the center is a letter from one Dolores Crawford, identifying this rifle by serial number as having been captured by her husband, Private William Crawford, during his service with the 101st Airborne at the Battle of Bastogne. Also in the case are an Airborne-style ascot, shoulder patch, and Private chevron patch, a swatch of camouflage fabric, a set of movement orders for the area of northeast France/Belgium, a Reichs Labor Service patch and a Bronze Star with Case.

Rating Definition:

Very good, with 40% of the original blue finish, showing areas of brown patina, mild edge wear and scattered handling marks. The stock is also very good, with scattered scuffs and light dings. The ascot shows mild stains, the movement orders show tearing at the folds, and the remainder of the case contents are fine. Mechanically excellent
