Produced in Belgium, the metric-pattern LAR was imported from 1975 to 1988 before being discontinued. Pin front and 600-meter peep rear sight, with a long flash hider, swiveling carry handle, and two position "S/R" marked selector switch. The right side of the receiver is roll-stamped "FABRIQUE NATIONALE HERSTAL/MADE IN BELGIUM" above the importer's marking "STEYR SECAUCUS N.J.", and the left is marked ".308 MATCH". Matching number is present on top of the bolt carrier. Smooth ventilated forearm, pistol grip, and buttstock.

Excellent, with 98% of the matte black finish, showing some light scratches and handling marks overall. The swing patch of the selector switch has been altered, with the approaches to the frame notch milled out slightly. Mechanically excellent.
