Manufactured in 1936 (receiver). The carbine is chambered in 7.65 Argentine. It is believed that Model 70 carbines in 7.65 mm Argentine were produced in very small numbers on a special order basis only. Hooded ramp front sight, filler block in the rear sight slot and Lyman receiver sight (stock inlet). The pre-war type receiver is tapped for scope mounting at the front and has a cloverleaf tang. Pre-war safety, polished bolt, solid bolt knob and sling swivels. Winchester factory style oval proofs on the barrel and receiver. The high comb pistol grip stock features checkering and a checkered steel buttplate.

Very fine as professionally refurbished/restored. The carbine retains 98% of the blue finish showing thinning to a brown on the receiver tang. The reoiled stock is also very fine with limited minor handling marks and a few blemishes in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
