Manufactured in 1953 (receiver). Winchester Model 70s in 300 Savage caliber were never cataloged and Model 70 Featherweights in 300 Savage are not known to have been produced, according to Model 70 expert and author Dean Whitaker. Hooded ramp front and adjustable folding leaf rear sights on the barrel marked with the Winchester legend on the left side. The Winchester factory oval proof is stamped on the barrel and receiver at the breech. The receiver is tapped for scope/sight mounting. Late safety, straight receiver tang, polished bolt numbered to the gun and sling swivels. Checkered high comb pistol grip stock with checkered aluminum buttplate.

Very fine as professionally refurbished/restored. The rifle retains nearly all of the blue finish showing a couple light handling marks and some finished over pitting. The stock is fine with a few barely noticeable handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
