Manufactured in 1955. This combined configuration of featherweight and 257 Roberts caliber has yet to be catalogued and is listed on page 34 and 35 of Whitaker's book, THE WINCHESTER MODEL 70, 1937-164 as "production status unknown." Barrel manufactured without sights with the Winchester legend on the left side. Winchester oval proof on the barrel and receiver and floor plate marked "-SUPER GRADE-". Jeweled bolt, follower and extractor with bolt numbered to gun. Receiver tapped for scope/sight mounting, late safety, hollow bolt knob and straight receiver tang. The high comb pistol grip stock features multi-point checkering, ebony forend cap, metal grip cap, cheekpiece, quick release sling swivels and checkered aluminum buttplate.

Very fine as professionally refurbished/restored. The rifle retains nearly all of the blue finish showing very limited very light flaking on the floor plate. The stock is near mint with the slightest handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
