Manufactured in 1955. The rifle is chambered in 358 Winchester, a caliber that Winchester offered from 1955 to 1958 and available by special order only on all Model 70 rifles except for the Featherweight. The barrel was manufactured without sights and is marked with the Winchester legend on the left side. The Winchester factory oval proof is found on the barrel and receiver. Receiver is tapped for scope/sight mounting, straight receiver tang, hollow bolt knob, polished bolt numbered to gun, late safety and sling swivels. Checkered high comb pistol grip stock fitted with a checkered steel buttplate.

Very fine as professionally refurbished/restored. The rifle retains nearly all of the blue finish showing the slightest handling marks. The stock is near mint showing a few light handling marks and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent.
