Description:

Blade front and fixed notch rear sights, with no markings visible on the exterior of the barrel or lock plate, which is equipped with a double-set trigger and a brass hand rest trigger guard. Smooth full length stock, with bear and bison engraved on the silver tip, floral designs on the ramrod pipes and escutcheons, carved vinework on the buttstock with a silver radiant burst panel on the cheekpiece, a brass buttplate with floral patterns, and an elaborate patch box; the base of the lid hinge is shaped like a warrior in stereotypical Plains Indian garb, complete with headdress, war club axe and bow, with the lid serving as a ceremonial loincloth decorated with a steer skull, bird superimposed on a sun and a swastika.

Rating Definition:

Very good as custom made. The barrel shows a strong brown finish, with a few areas of fading, mild handling marks, and rust around the touchhole, which appears to have been opened up slightly. A gray patina is showing on the lock assembly, with some polishing marks on the hammer. The stock is very good as repaired, with some filler material on the right side next to the rear ramrod pipe and light handling marks overall. The silver components show a mixed aged patina. Mechanically very good.
