Description:

The first production of the 357 Magnum double action revolver built on a five screw N target frame. These .357 Magnums were introduced in 1935 and were a custom manufactured revolver. Smith & Wesson manufactured about 5,500 Registered Magnums before production was stopped because it was deemed too costly to manufacture, which at the time sold for $60. Standard barrel and right side frame markings and "REG 3008" marked on the frame. The top of the rib and top strap are finely checkered, finely checkered casehardened hammer and serrated trigger, both marked "REG. U.S. PAT. OFF." Pinned front blade sight, adjustable rear sight and fitted with checkered walnut magna grips with silver S&W medallions, matching internal numbers and diamond pattern around the screws.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The revolver retains 85% original blue finish with some muzzle and edge wear, a cylinder drag line, and thinning on the trigger guard and grip straps. The butt is mostly a smooth gray patina. The hammer and trigger retain most of the original case colors. The grips are also very good with scattered minor dents and dings, and moderate wear to the well defined checkering. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is fine.
