Manufactured in 1955, the first year of production. These revolvers were only manufactured for two years before it was renamed the Model 19. Has a serrated ramp front sight and a fully adjustable rear sight. The serial number is stamped on the butt, the back of the cylinder and in the barrel ejector rod cutout. Fitted with a set of checkered walnut grips with silver S&W medallions.

Excellent, 95% of the original blue finish remains with some muzzle and high edge wear along with some scattered minor scratches, a drag line on the cylinder and a small spot of pin prick pitting on the left side of the barrel. The front sight has been lightly filed to adjust point of impact. The last digit of the serial number on the butt is very light. The trigger and hammer retain 90% plus of the bright original case colors. The grips are very good with some dings, scratches and a minor chip on the left panel at the top. Mechanically excellent.
