Description:

Manufactured in 1898 and subsequently custom embellished in the late 20th/early 21st century with broad floral scroll covering the sides of the barrel, cylinder flats, frame, trigger guard bow and back strap. There is also a floral design on the upper front of the frame on both sides and a geometric design on the crane. The sides of the front sight have a floral design. The top of the barrel is marked with the three-line address/patent dates and "COLT D.A. 41" in a panel on the left side. "LIBERTY" is in a banner on the top of the back strap. The serial number is on the butt, and the matching assembly number (399) is on the cylinder release, crane and frame. Blade front and frame notch rear sights. The revolver has a blue finish with niter blue hammer and trigger, and fitted with ivory grips with a relief carved eagle and shield motif on the left side and the bust of a woman with "LIBERTY" on her head band. The revolver comes in a custom wooden case with green felt fitted lining.

Rating Definition:

Very good as custom embellished. The revolver has a smooth gray patina. There is some strong traces of original fire blue finish in the protected area of the hammer, otherwise the trigger and hammer have a bright appearance. The grips are also very good with some hairline age cracks and light handling marks. The markings are clear. The engraving is crisp. The action is fine.
