Manufactured in 1902. Brass blade front sight and windage-adjustable notch rear sights, with the two-line address and patent dates on top of the barrel and "NEW SERVICE 455 ELEY" along the left. The London Proof House "crown/V" and "crown/GP" stamps are present on the underside of the barrel and in alternating cylinder flutes, with "&" stamped on the inside of the frame, and the Rampant Colt surrounded by "COLT'S/NEW SERVICE" on the left side. The hammer, trigger and grip straps are all checkered, with a pair of checkered walnut grips. The butt of the pistol is engraved "E. GILLESPIE/1902"; no information on Gillespie was provided with this lot.

Good, with 60% of the original blue finish, showing areas of brown patina, mild dings, and numerous patches of pitting, particularly on the barrel. A strong niter blue finish is present on the hammer and trigger. Grips are fair, with some dents and minor chips. Mechanically excellent.
