Description:

Manufactured in 1901. Fixed sights, with the two-line address and patent dates (1884-1895) on top of the barrel, "COLT D.A. 38" on the left side and Rinaldo Carr "R.A.C." inspection marks on the on the frame, cylinder and grips. Matching numbers are present on the barrel, cylinder match, and crane. Standard U.S. Army markings on the butt, with an additional unit number of "74" stamped on the heel, "ISC" on the right grip panel and "NY" on the left. With a Rock Island Arsenal-marked brown leather holster, with the additional stamping "E/G-F'ld Art." on the flap.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 90% plus of the bright original blue finish, showing areas of brown and gray patina, light scratches and handling marks, and scattered spotting. A small amount of rust is present in the hammer cutout and on the hammer. Grips are good, with some dings and scuffs. Holster is fair, with the plug absent, some lost stitching, and a number of scuffs and stains. Mechanically excellent.
