Manufactured by the Remington Arms Company c.1944. The rifle is fitted with a Lyman Alaskan telescopic sight with fine cross-hair reticle, parkerized scope rings and Redfield scope base, milled bolt handle and walnut pistol grip "C" stock. The barrel is correctly not fitted with a front sight blade or base and the scope mount replaces the rear sight. The rifle has the standard Model 1903-A3 stamped buttplate, barrel bands, sling swivels, follower and trigger guard. The receiver has the distinctive rolled marking "U.S./ REMINGTON/ MODEL 1903-A3" on the left side and the serial number "3423486" on the right side of the receiver. The barrel is roll stamped "RA" above the Ordnance Shell & Flame insignia and the date "3 44". The left side of the stock is stamped with the Springfield Armory final inspection mark "S.A./G.A.W." in a rectangle followed by the Ordnance Corps escutcheon. The arsenal re-build mark "RA-P" is stamped ahead of the SA markings. An circled block "P" proof mark is stamped on the inside of the pistol grip. The left side of the blue telescopic sight is roll stamped with the Lyman "ALASKAN" and "ALL WEATHER" trademarks, patent dates and the serial number "B5823". The rifle has been Arsenal overhauled and has a gray parkerized finish on all components. Most Model 1903 A-4 Sniper rifles were Arsenal overhauled following WWII. The Model 1903 A-4 rifles saw limited service in the Korean Conflict and were supplied to many U.S. Third World allies during the Cold War. The vast majority of M1903 A-4 Sniper Rifles sold to the public thru the Director of Civilian Marksmanship had the original telescopic sights removed before sale.

Fine as Arsenal overhauled. The rifle retains 98% of the arsenal refurbished gray parkerized finish and has negligible handling wear. The telescopic sight retains nearly 98% of the original blue finish and has excellent optics. The stock and forearm are very fine with sharp overhaul cartouches and minimal handling wear. Most of the components are marked with the "R" Remington production mark; the bolt has the distinctive Smith Corona sleeve.
