This is a beautiful example of a highly desirable, original, Colt Firearms Division, fully automatic M16A1 type carbine. These original Colt fully automatic M16 series rifles and carbines are very rare to find on the open market today. This carbine was produced/manufactured in the same manner as the military counterpart only it was manufactured using a commercial 9 Million serial number range. This carbine has the lightweight chrome lined barrel with Colt type short hand guards with the aluminum heat shields inside and the two position telescoping stock. It has an original Colt M16A1 upper receiver with the forward assist, two-position flip rear sight, and the original marked bolt and bolt carrier group. It has an original Colt M16 type lower receiver with the raised fence around the magazine release button and a reinforced lower rear section. The left side of the receiver is correctly marked with the circled Rampant Colt over "COLT/M16A1/CAL. 5.56 MM/9270166", and the rear section is marked "COLT FIREARMS DIVISION/COLT INDUSTRIES/HARTFORD CONN./U.S.A.". "SAFE/SEMI/AUTO" is marked around the selector switch. This excellent carbine comes complete with four original Colt marked magazines and a green nylon magazine pouch with 1-20 round and 3-30 round magazines, a handguard removal tool, a folding short Harris bipod and earlier Japanese made Colt 3X scope.

Excellent with 99% of the original Colt factory finish (parkerize/anodized) with wear on the edges and high spots overall. The plastic components are all in very fine condition with minimal handling marks. The scope retains 98% of its original black painted finish with excellent clear optics. The carbine shows firing and use but is in nice original condition.
