Iron basket guard with cut-through heart designs and a red felt backing, wire wrapped leather grip and red string tassel on the pommel. With a nickel finished scabbard. 2) Scottish sword, as 1 with the red backing lined with white cloth and trimmed in blue-green. 3) Scottish dress sword, 36 inches long with a 30 1/2 inch straight lozenge-profile blade with thistle-themed etching. Rating Definition:

1) Good. The blade and guard show light spotting and flaking, the cloth items show staining appropriate to age, and the scabbard is fair, with spotting and dents. 2) Very good, with mild spotting, staining and handling marks. The throat of the scabbard is detached but included. 3) Good, with some mild spotting and areas of brown patina on the blade, a small amount of pitting on the same, strong gilt finish on the brass components, some displacement of the wire near the pommel and mild scuffing of the leather and knot.
