Description:

The scroll and stag engraved lock plate is marked "PURDY," a high end London gunmaker. Engraved scrollwork is also found on the barrel tang and fish engraved hammer with a big cat scene engraved on the trigger guard. The top barrel flat is marked "I PURDY No 314 OXFORD STREET LONDON." Hammer safety, single set trigger, three leaf rear sight and blade front sight. The checkered, ebonized half stock has a flat steel buttplate with engraved tang and a horn forend tip. The rifle has an ebony ramrod with a brass tip.

Rating Definition:

Good. The metal surfaces have a bright appearance showing overall minor pitting with some deeper pitting on the barrel. The stock is good with numerous minor dings and scratches and smooth checkering. Mechanically excellent.
