This attractive French pistol has a post front sight and fixed notch rear sight. The irregular octagon barrel is rifled and fluted. At the breech it is marked "PORTEE GARANTIE" and "ACIER/FONDU" in gold fill. These phrase translate approximately to "range guaranteed" and "molten steel". There is fine scroll engraving on the barrel flats at the muzzle and the upper right and left flats at the breech. The remaining components have complementary scroll engraving. It is fitted on a walnut half stock with flutes finely cut into the grip, scroll work carving at the forend and left flat, and an ornate buttplate. The trigger guard has a spur and a pineapple shaped finial.

Very good. The barrel retains 20% of the faded blue finish with a brown patina on most of the balance and brighter metal in the flutes. The casehardened components have a light brown patina. 99% plus of the gold fill remains, and the engraving remains crisp. The stock is very good with some small dings throughout, wear at the front of the left flat, a chip absent on the bottom left of the grip, and a few slight cracks. Mechanically excellent.
