Manufactured in 1888. It has the integral dust cover rail on the receiver and a dust cover with serrated edges. Blade front sight and an adjustable buckhorn rear sight with serrated edges. The upper tang is drilled and tapped. The top of the barrel has the two-line address/patent dates markings ahead of the rear sight and "38 W.C.F." at the breech. "38 CAL" is stamped in on the bottom of the brass cartridge elevator. "- MODEL. 1873.-" is marked on the upper tang. The serial number is stamped on the lower tang between the lever latch and the tang screw. It is fitted with a full length magazine along with a walnut straight wrist stock and forearm with a crescent buttplate and forend cap. The crescent buttplate has a compartment with a cleaning rod. The hammer and trigger are casehardened, some small components such as the screws and loading gate are niter blued, and the remained is blued.

Fine as restored. 99% plus of the blue and niter blue finish along with the vivid case colors remain with only slight handling/storage marks. The re-oiled wood is also in fine condition with only the slightest of handling/storage marks. Mechanically excellent with all markings legible.
