Description:

Manufactured in 1918, this carbine has a saddle ring on the left side of the receiver, blade front sight, adjustable folding leaf rear sight, and a steel buttplate. The stock and forearm are varnished walnut. The left side of the barrel is marked with the two-line address and patent information ahead of the single barrel band and "-NICKEL STEEL BARREL-/ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER" below the rear sight. The caliber designation and "WP" proofs are found on the barrel and frame at the breech. The three-line, "MODEL 1894" model/trade mark marking is located on the upper receiver tang. The right side of the butt has a light elk carving.

Rating Definition:

Very good as partially refinished (cold blue on barrel). The balance of barrel retains 25% of the original blue finish while the frame and other components have been cleaned to a bright gray with some light pitting. The wood has some chips/slivers missing along with some mild abrasions, a few dents, and some minor dings. Mechanically fine with clear markings. A fine example of the hard to find Model 1894 Trapper carbine.
