Description:

Manufactured in 1910. The upper left rear barrel flat is marked with the two-line address/1879 patent date with "25-20 S.S." at the breech. The Winchester oval proof is marked on top of the receiver and barrel at the breech. The serial number is marked on the lower tang. Globe front sight, Winchester A5 scope and short range tang mounted peep sight. Blue finish with casehardened hammer, breechblock and lever, single set trigger and mounted with a smooth walnut forearm and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate. The factory letter shows that this rifle was shipped March 19, 1910 as configured with "single set trigger, Lyman Target front sight #17, Lyman combination rear sight with cup disc #2."

Rating Definition:

Excellent. 98% bright original blue finish remains on the barrel, 90% plus on the frame with a spot of pitting present on the upper right chamber. There are a few minor scratches present on the receiver. The lever retains 95% original case colors, brightest on the sides and inside. The wood is excellent with an extremely minor 1/2 inch hairline crack on the top right of the forearm, and overall some minor dents and scratches. There is an extremely minor 1/2 inch hairline crack at the top right of the forearm. The scope is very good with wear streaks from the mounts and thinning to a grayish brown patina toward the front. The optics are slightly hazy. The action is excellent.
