Manufactured in 1890-1891, this rifle features an adjustable spirit level globe front sight, filled rear sight dovetail, a tang mounted peep sight, a #4 weight heavy octagon barrel, single trigger and is fitted with a multi-point Schnabel tip forearm with ebony insert and semi-pistol grip stock with an ebony insert at the bottom of the grip and a nickel plated Swiss style buttplate. Under the buttplate the butt has an empty slot and is marked "3114". It has a blue finished receiver and barrel and a casehardened hammer, breech block and lever. The left barrel flat is marked with the two-line address and patent information ahead of the rear sight dovetail and "32-40" at the breech. The top of the barrel and receiver at the breech have the later production "WP" proof. The only other visible marking is the serial number on the lower tang. One extra adjustment knob is included.

Rating Definition:

Fine as factory rebarreled. The barrel retains 50% of the blue finish with the balance a brown patina. The receiver retains 75% of the blue finish with some brown patina on the upper and lower areas. Traces of the casehardened finish remain. The buttplate retains 80% of the nickel plating with an aged patina on the nickel and the exposed brass. There are scattered minor marks and scratches throughout and a series of small nicks on the barrel. The wood is good with crisp checkering and several small dings/dents especially on the right side of the butt which has a scrape on the bottom. The forearm checkering is heavily worn. A small repaired crack is present near the upper tang on the right. The markings are clear and the action is excellent.
