Description:

This scarce pepperbox has high grade detailed scroll engraving on the frame and rear strap along with scroll patterned hard rubber grips. "C. SHARPS/PATENT 1859" is marked around the hammer screw on the left side of the frame, and "C. SHARPS & CO. PHILADA. PA." is on the right. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the barrel and on the butt.

Rating Definition:

Good. The barrels have a brown patina with extensive light pitting while the brass frame has an attractive dark aged patina. The hammer and firing pin have some oxidation. The grips are very good with some minor wear at the edges. The grips are very good with crisp designs. Mechanically fine with clear markings.
