Description:

Manufactured in Columbus, Ohio, with "C. SIEBERT COLUMBUS O" on the lock and on the top flat of the extra-heavy barrel, which is equipped with a hooded drift-adjustable pin front sight, a 1 inch long detachable false muzzle, and a casehardened breech plug with a platinum blow-out disc. The lock is a conventional mid-1800s back action design, with a double-set trigger arrangement, an elevation adjustable peep rear sight on the upper tang, and a brass hand-rest trigger guard. Installed on a smooth half-length stock, with a pewter forearm tip, hardwood ramrod, German silver escutcheons for the barrel wedge and a hooked target buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Fine as partially refinished. The barrel shows 95% of a fine deep period refurbished brown finish, and the casehardened components have brightly silvered out, with patches of pitting and scattered handling marks. Some mild dings are present around the front sight. The stock is very good, with a thin crack at the breech opposite the lock, scattered dings and scratches, and an attractive grain. No half cock notch is present, otherwise mechanically good.
