Description:

Single steel bead sight, with a faint London address on the concave rib, light scroll engraving and a platinum band on the breechplug, and "64" on the undersides of the barrels. Both locks are marked "Josh MANTON/LONDON", with fish head hammers, light leafy border engraving and coiled serpent designs. Checkered straight wrist stock with a brass tipped ebony ramrod, pineapple decorated ramrod pipe and trigger guard finial, and a flat steel buttplate. Measurements: choke - cylinder/cylinder, length of pull - 14 1/2 inches.

Rating Definition:

About good. The steel components show a mixed gray patina overall, with hints of brown Damascus pattern on the barrels, traces of a protective lacquer, and scattered spotting and pitting. The stock has been repaired, with a mended break at the wrist, professionally replaced wood at the forearm, and some cracks and scuffs overall. The top tang of buttplate is lifted up slightly. Mechanically fine.
