This rifle has a heavy barrel that is about two thirds round with the remaining octagon and is marked "CASTSTEEL" on the upper left flat just behind the rear sight. It is fitted with a globe front and adjustable notch rear sight along with a folding, tang mounted peep sight. The back action lock plate has light engraving of pheasants in a field scene along with scroll work at the rear and is marked "WARRANTED". The hammer and screws have complimentary engraving. It is mounted on a smooth, straight wrist, half stock with small cheek rest and brass furniture including a crescent buttplate and dual patch box (contains some patches and caps). The forend cap and escutcheons are German silver. It includes a wooden ramrod with brass tip.

Very good. The barrel has a mixture of the faded brown finish and brown patina. The lock plate is partially bright with some spotting. The German silver components have a dark gray tarnished appearance while the brass has an aged patina. There are some minor marks and scratches throughout and some slight cracks in the forend cap. The wood is very good with some minor dings and small chips. Mechanically fine with a chip on the hammer and clear marks and engraving overall.
