Description:

Manufactured by the London Armoury Company, this rifle does not have the traditional mark and date stamps on the right side of the frame; instead it simply has a fancy "M". The left side plate is marked "THE LONDON ARMOURY/Jas KERR & Co/54 KING WILLIAM St/LONDON BRIDGE/13450(serial number)/MARTINIS PATENT". The barrel has "HENRY/RIFLING" on the right side at the breech. British proofmarks are spread throughout. It has a blade front and folding ladder rear sight and a bayonet lug on the right. It is fitted with a full length, straight grip stock with the smooth buttplate and includes a tulip headed ramrod.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The rifle retains 60% of the thinned blue finish with brown patina taking its place on the balance and some light scratches and marks throughout. The buttplate has a straight cut and a gray/brown patina. The ramrod is brighter than the other metal surfaces. The refinished stock is very good with some overall light wear, dings and scratches overall. Mechanically excellent.
