Manufactured in 1863 with cone and hammer notch sights, with the one-line New York address on the top flat of the barrel and the stagecoach holdup scene on the six shot cylinder. The upper left rear of the trigger guard is marked "31 CAL" with a "1" on the front. The left side of the frame is marked "COLTS/PATENT", all numbers are matching. Smooth one-piece walnut grips.

Rating Definition:

Very good as partially refinished (grip and cylinder). Barrel displays 40% of the original blue finish, with scattered areas of minor pitting and gray patina. Cylinder is an artificial mottled gray/brown patina with a very clear stagecoach scene. Frame, hammer and loading lever are very fine with muted case colors transitioning into a smooth uniform dark brown patina. The grip frame is fine, with only faint traces of original nickel silver plating in protected areas. The balance has taken on a well aged brass color. Small dents are visible on the butt. Grip is very good as revarnished with a smooth high gloss finish. Mechanically very fine.
