Description:

Introduced in 1887. Pinned blade front sight and latch-mounted adjustable "V" notch rear sight, with the one-line address on top of the rib, "32-44 S.&W. CTG" on the left side, and matching numbers on the barrel, latch, cylinder, the underside of the ejector and on the butt of the frame.

Rating Definition:

Very good as refinished, with 95% of the blue finish, showing areas of brown patina, mild edge wear and scattered handling marks. Pitting is visible overall, mostly shallow and beneath the finish. Notes provided by the consignor state that the refinish was performed by Smith & Wesson circa 1964; though no paperwork is provided, S&W is known to have serviced it's antique revolvers well into the 20th century. Traces of the casehardened pattern are present, with a few spots of vivid color. The grips are good, with some mild age cracks, tool marks around the screw, a few darker brown stains and a fine grain and color overall. Mechanically very good.
