Description:

Manufactured from 1861-1874, the Number Two was a popular sidearm during the Civil War, bought on the commercial market by soldiers with the coin to spend on advanced firepower. German silver blade front and notch rear sights, with the one-line address on top of the ribbed 5 inch barrel, matching "AA6" assembly numbers on the barrel, cylinder and the left side of the back strap, and a matching serial number on the inside of the right grip panel.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 70% of the original blue finish, showing a brown patina on the sides of the barrel and cylinder, a bright gray on the high edges, and scattered spotting and handling marks overall. The ejector rod shows a silvered color with traces of the original casehardening and mild dings. The grips are fine, with a few light scratches and dents on the wood, with fine varnish and color. Mechanically fine.
