Description:

This revolver was manufactured in 1877 and has a 3 1/2 inch barrel marked with the two-line address on top and the etched panel caliber markings on the left side. The left side of the frame has the three-line, three-patent dates. The upper left rear of the trigger guard is marked "38 CAL". It has a nickel plated finish with niter blue small parts and rarely seen one piece, checkered, hard rubber grip with the Rampant Colt emblem on each side. It has the standard blade front and frame groove rear sights. The loading gate is marked with the assembly number "410". The barrel and rear of the cylinder are clearly marked "1385" whereas the other components appear to be marked "1335". The accompanying survey form lists the details of the gun and is marked "Return to: Bruce E. Skinner". Also included is a factory "picture box" with matching external label and pink instruction label on the inside.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. 97% of the original nickel plating and 80% of the original niter blue finish remains with some light scratches and handling marks overall, a few small nicks on the edges, and a few spots of slight flaking. The grip is excellent with crisp checkering and only light handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The box is good with several tears and general storage type wear. Overall, an exceptional example of a first year Colt Model 1877 Lightning DA ejectorless Revolver.
