Manufactured in 1887 with a full length magazine, crescent buttplate, elevation adjustable sporting rear sight and blade front sight with bead. The receiver has the Rampant Colt emblem on the left side. It has a blue finish and a casehardened hammer and is fitted with a smooth straight wrist stock and checkered forearm. The top of the barrel is marked with the two-line address and patent dates ahead of the rear sight and "40-60-260" below the rear sight on the left. The serial number is marked on the lower tang.

Fine. The rifle retains50% of the original blue finish with a brown or gray patina on the faded areas. There are various marks and scratches including a series of scratches on the bottom of the magazine tube and some patches of minor pitting on the upper tang. The wood is very good with some minor scrapes and pressure marks along with a slight chip on the right side of the wrist at the junction with the frame and a hairline crack on the right rear of the forearm. Mechanically fine with clear markings.
