Made in Belgium in 1971, this rifle is engraved and signed by noted Browning Master Engraver Louis Vrancken. Joining the firm shortly after World War II, Vrancken rapidly distinguished himself among Fabrique Nationale's engraving staff, and would be responsible for the introduction of the Midas Grade to the Superposed line. Following the retirement of Felix Funken in the '60s, Vrancken was acknowledged as one of his direct successors. Ramp blade front and folding notch rear sights, with the standard Belgian address, proof and caliber markings on the barrel, and a Leupold Vari-X IIc 2-7x scope on a twist-off Leupold base on top of the receiver. The side flats of the receiver are covered in fine punch dot backed scroll engraving, with a gold bordered engraved and inlaid scene on each side, along with the "VRANCKEN" signature on the left panel. The left side has a scene of four golden elk in a clearing, 2 bucks and 2 does, and the right side showing a similar quantity of moose in a field. Additional scroll engraving is present on the bottom of the magazine and trigger guard, with a gold washed trigger. Extra fancy checkered walnut pistol grip stock with carved scroll accents on the checkered panels, sling studs, and a solid Browning recoil pad.

Excellent, with 99% of the original blue finish, showing mild scratching on the sides of the front sight ramp, along with some minor handling marks overall. The engraving and gold work is all sharply executed and highly detailed. Stock is very good, with some minor crazing of the finish near the wrist, minor pressure dents and attractive color and grain to the wood. Optics are crisp, mechanically excellent.
