Manufactured for Colt by J.P. Sauer & Son of West Germany. Features a non-rotating bolt that makes the Colt Sauer action smoother functioning than most. It was manufactured without sights with the receiver drilled and tapped and engraved scope blocks installed. The receiver features near total coverage with tight incredibly detailed "Germanic" scroll engraving. Also featured on the receiver are three highly detailed relief animal busts inlaid in gold: bighorn sheep at the right rear, a bull elk on the left rear, and a mountain goat at the left front. The standard Colt Sauer markings are bordered by the engraving. The floor plate, trigger guard and magazine are similarly engraved with gold animal heads inlaid: bear is on the floor plate, and a short antlered deer type animal on the trigger guard. The magazine has a "1" in gold inlay as well. Fitted with a one piece high gloss Monte Carlo stock with a raised cheekpiece, checkered forearm and pistol grip, rosewood fore arm tip and grip cap with the Rampant Colt design and vented Colt Sauer recoil pad and sling studs. Colt discontinued this rifle in 1985.

Very fine as engraved and embellished. The barrel receiver and all major metal components have 99% plus deep royal blue finish. The engraving is masterfully executed with crisp lines and delicate details. Stock is very fine with minimal handling marks. Mechanically excellent. A truly one of a kind bolt action rifle from a world class producer.
