The solid barrel rib features a gold inlaid band towards the muzzle and is fitted with a bead front sight and a notch rear sight. The barrels are marked "MAIKA" and "HH C. HETEPHYPER." The underside of the barrels are stamped with several "crown/letter" proofs and numbered "82717". The barrel flat is marked with the gauge "12" and "XC02428." 2 1/2 inch chambers, choked full/full and extractors. According to the consignor the locks are by Brazier. The frame, locks, break lever, trigger guard and forearm hardware feature a fine English scroll engraving incorporating flower blossoms. The locks are signed "MAIKA." The shotgun has double triggers, a tang safety with "SAFE" in gold and matching numbers on the barrels, water table and trigger guard. The nicely figured straight grip stock features fine multi-point checkering on the wrist and splinter forearm. The buttstock has a retractable leather sling marked "BRETELLE/BTE S.G.D.G./AUTOMATIQUE" on the silver hardware and a serrated horn buttplate. The leather bound takedown case has a E.J. Binet & Fils label on the inside of the lid. The case is lined in green felt and contains a three-piece brass cleaning rod with two bore brush attachments and oiler. 2 1/2 inch chambers, bore diameter: R- .722 L- .723, min. bbl thickness: R- .050 L- .050, length of pull: 14 1/8 inches, drop at comb: 1 5/8/16 inches, drop at heel: 2 3/8 inches, cast-on: 3/8 inches. Also included is a set of loading tools in a "Haggard Service" locking metal case with keys.

Very fine as professionally refinished. The barrels retain nearly all of the blue finish. The action retains traces of case colors, otherwise faded to an attractive gray. The wood is also very fine with a few minor handling marks. The checkering is crisp. Mechanically excellent. The case is very good showing edge wear and some stains on the leather and some high spot wear on the lining. The reloading tools and case are fine overall.
