Description:

This is an outstanding example of a beautiful all original DWM Model 1906 commercial Luger. These early commercial Lugers were made expressly for commercial sales through out the world for the United States, South America and Europe. These early examples have the best fit of the various parts with a beautiful hand polished rust blue finish on the metal parts with straw colors on the smaller components. The example has the correct short style frame and upper receiver, flat toggles, grip safety, no stock lug and is fitted with a standard 4 3/4 inch tapered barrel. The chamber area is unmarked and the extractor is marked "GELADEN" (indicating sale in Europe) with the correct first pattern polished lower safety area of the frame. The pistol is correctly numbered in the commercial style with "Crown/N" proofs on the side of the barrel extension, breech block, and underside of the barrel. The pistol is fitted with a beautiful set of dark European checkered walnut grips and is complete with a correct unmarked commercial magazine with a nickel plated body and unmarked wooden base.

Rating Definition:

Excellent plus. The pistol has 99% of the original blue finish intact. The only discernable wear is a very slight spot on the bottom of the grip strap. Very unusually, the grip screws and front sight have almost all the niter blue finish. The straw colored components have 90% of the original straw colored finish. The grips are nicely figured, with a slightly darker color and have sharp checkering overall with only a couple of minor scratches at the top of the right side. An exceptional DWM Model 1906 commercial Luger pistol
