This is an example of an early Commercial Walther PPK produced in the very scarce "6.35 mm" (25 ACP) caliber. These 6.35mm PPKs were produced in the early 1930 and are documented in the 776,XXX to 780,XXX" serial number range. This specific pistol falls right in line with the range documented in Rankin's first book on the Walther PP and PPK pistols. It is identical to the standard Walther PPK in 7.65mm except for the magazine and smaller bore diameter. The left side of the slide has the Walther Banner followed by the standard two-line Walther factory markings two line markings, with the caliber designation of "6.35 m/m" followed by "Mod. PPK". It has standard fixed sights, 90 degree safety lever, and correct style hammer with indicator slot and solid back. The slide and chamber area have the standard "Crown/N" commercial proofs, and the last three digits "507" are scribed on the inside the slide. It has the regular one piece, checkered mottled brown plastic grips with Walther banners at the top. It is complete with a correct 6.35 mm magazine that has the Walther Banner on the lower left side with small insert, designed for the 6.35 mm cartridge. The side of the magazine does have the cartridge counter holes, however it is a correct late production 6.35 mm magazine which is correctly made by insertion of a Walther Model 8 magazine into the PPK magazine.

Excellent with 90% plus of the original blued finish overall with wear on the edges and high spots with thinning on the front grip strap. 40% of the original niter blue remains on the safety lever. The grip is in very fine condition with minimal handling marks with a slight warpage on the lower edges. As noted this excellent, very rare Prewar Walther PPK 6.35 mm has the original matching serialized slide.
