Description:

Measuring 24 inches long and 26 inches wide with 2 inches of red, white and black fringe along the side and bottom edges of the red silk field with both sides of the field showing a 9 inch side black cloth and silver bullion swastika set on a 13 inch wide silver bullion bordered white circle. Both sides bear silver bullion writing above and below the swastika with "DEUTSCHLAND/ERWACHE" (Germany Awake, opening words of a popular Nazi song) on one side and "NAT.SOZ.DEUTSCHE ARBEITER PARTEI/STURMABTEILUNG" (National Socialist German Workers Party/Stormtroopers, aka the Nazi Party and the SA) on the other. A loop is present at the top for a crossbar, not included. No maker's marks are present. Traditionally carried with a tall eagle and swastika-topped pole, these banners can be seen in photographs of several Nazi parades and rallies, particularly during the heyday of the SA as the chief "muscle" of the party.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The banner has been folded and has a few breaks in the bullion along the creases, especially on the SA-side swastika. Otherwise, the bullion and the threading is all very strong. A minimal amount of stains are present.
