Description:

The Beaumont improved Adams revolver is widely considered to be the first true double action revolver produced and was so successful it forced Samuel Colt to close his English factory due to a significant decrease in sales. This example has the correct Adam's one-piece frame and barrel, blade front and notch rear sights, "21688/ADAMS' PATENT. 37489" on the right side of the frame, "37489" on the cylinder, a loading lever on the left side, and checkered grip with a plain grip cap. The edges have some light border engraving.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. 85% of the original blue finish remains with primarily a brown patina on the loading arm, trigger guard and grip cap. There are some minor scratches and marks throughout and some edge wear. The grip is very fine with some small chips and crisp checkering. Mechanically fine with clear markings.
