This is a late WWII M1 Garand rifle originally manufactured in late 1944/45, that was later converted into a M1D sniper rifle. The barrel is marked "D7312555 MD 34 S A 11-52". It has a mix of early WWII era and late post war Springfield Armory parts, with the late manufacture NHC marked windage and elevation drum. It is fitted with a correct pattern reproduction M84 scope and reproduction scope mount. The scope is numbered "7928" and the mount although correct looking does not have the correct "M" casting mark. The rifle is fitted in an original GI walnut stock and hand guard set. The stock has a "AAY" cartouche on the left side with no other visible proof marks. The stock is also fitted with a late commercial leather lace on cheekpiece that is marked "MRT" on the right side. The rifle comes with a T-37 flash hider and a copy of the CMP certificate and sales receipt. This rifle has the late dark black coated parkerized finish, typical of the M1 Garand rifles imported from Greece.

Very good as arsenal refurbished/rebuilt with 95% of the black parkerized finish overall, with edge and high spot wear with some areas of heavy pitting/erosion on the front edge of the barrel block. The stock and hand guard are in very good condition overall as having been arsenal refurbished now showing a very nice dark brown finish overall on all three wood components. The scope and mount retain 99% of their current finished and the optics are clear and sharp. A very nice looking Springfield Armory M1D sniper rifle with CMP documentation.
