The Pre-Woodsman Model was manufactured from 1915 to 1927. This particular pistol was manufactured in 1920 and features the very distinctive "pencil thin" barrel found on this model up until approximately serial number 31,000. The left side of the slide is marked "COLT AUTOMATIC/CAL..22 LONG RIFLE", with the Rampant Colt in front of the serrations and the top of the barrel is marked with the two-line address/patent dates. The front sight is elevation adjustable and the rear sight is adjustable for windage. The pistol has the correct, checkered oval panel on the mainspring housing which is characteristic of the Pre-Woodsman models designed for standard velocity 22 LR ammunition. Smooth trigger, two-tone Colt marked magazine and fitted with checkered walnut grips with diamond pattern around the screw.

Excellent overall with 98% original blue finish, with scattered small scratches and a small amount of edge wear at the toe of the butt. Grips are excellent, with crisp checkering and a small amount of verdigris at the screw escutcheon. Mechanically excellent.
