Description:

This revolver was built based on a Charles Pryse patent from 1876. The top of the rib is marked "CONSTRUCTED BY MESSRS GYE & MONCRIEFF, LONDON.", and the cylinder is marked "STEEL". The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the barrel, front of the cylinder and near the mainspring. "PATENT 857" is marked on the right side of the frame in a diamond and the steel plate next to the mainspring is marked "JOINT PATENT STANTON & CO" over a number obscured by the spring. It is equipped with blade front and notch rear sights, a checkered walnut grip and a lanyard loop.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The revolver retains 40% of the original blue finish with a mottled brown-gray patina on the balance. There is a thin drag line on the cylinder and some spotting throughout. The grip is also fine with crisp checkering and only a few minor dings. Mechanically excellent with clear markings.
